Bearing Damage: Bearing Bore Distortion

Bearing bore distortion can be caused by excessive interference fit in a medium wall liner, or by entrapment of foreign matter between the bearing and housing during assembly. In the latter case, localized overheating may also result.

Addressing the Damage

Fit new or relined bearings or pads. Investigate and, if necessary, correct the interference conditions and housing design.
