The Waukesha Magnetic Bearings advanced control system maintains and adjusts the position of the rotor by varying the current in the electromagnets in response to signals from the position sensor. This system defines the stiffness and damping of the magnetic suspension. The controls interface with other plant systems to allow proper start-up, operation and shutdown of the system.
Waukesha Magnetic Bearings offers three air-cooled digital controllers:
This range can accommodate turbomachinery applications from as low as 1 MW to 50 MW and more.
Most importantly, each of these controllers features remote connectivity capabilities that allow for remote commissioning, monitoring and diagnostics – without the need for on-site support.
