AMB Retrofits for Turboexpanders White Paper

In today’s competitive gas and power generation markets where turbo-expander environments are becoming progressively more demanding, an upgrade of existing active magnetic bearing (AMB) systems may be the answer to achieving production goals.

For magnetic bearing upgrades in turbo-expanders, two scenarios are possible:

• A controller upgrade that maintains all of the original AMB hardware and sensors
• An upgrade of the controller and the AMB mechanical components
