| Combination bearings: responsive
to specialized uses
Combination bearings are created
for applications which require both a thrust and
a journal bearing, in which both bearing types
must respond to the specific environmental needs
of a particular application. Common examples of
combination bearings include Vertical Bearing
Assemblies used in applications that require air
cooling, electrical insulation and conformance
to other environmental parameters. Combination
designs also commonly include Handbook self-contained
units and other horizontal bearing assemblies
that adapt to an external casing or a customer’s
existing housing.
